A common complaint I’ve heard about the iPhone is that it does not support MMS. Or does it? Afterall, MMS is basically just glorified email aliasing. Email? Now that’s something the iPhone can do!
Since you can email pictures you have taken, to send a picture to any cellphone just email it to the recipient’s MMS email address. All you will need to do is enter the recipients 10 digit number into the appropriate carrier field.
US Based Carriers:
Alltel = xxxxxxxxxx@message.alltel.com
AT&T (Formerly Cingular) = xxxxxxxxxx@txt.att.net
Boost Mobile = xxxxxxxxxx@myboostmobile.com
Einstein PCS = xxxxxxxxxx@einsteinmms.com
Sprint = xxxxxxxxxx@messaging.sprintpcs.com
T-Mobile = xxxxxxxxxx@tmomail.net
US Cellular = xxxxxxxxxx@mms.uscc.net
Verizon Wireless = xxxxxxxxxx@vzwpix.com
Virgin Mobile = xxxxxxxxxx@vmobl.com

Just a heads up.
Since the name change, Cingular/AT&T mail should be sent to xxxxxxxxxx@txt.att.net now.
Very handy quick and easy guide, though. Cheers!

Hi, I tried the MMS workaround.. the one you say just send by email to xxxxxxxxxx@txt.att.net…
it does not work for me. I get the txt but no pix…any help would be great.
thx
People on O2 in the UK might like to consider the app shown here; http://www.iross.net/blog/2007/11/14/iphone-mms/ as a good means of reading MMS messages they’re sent
(shameless self promotion, but most people so far seem to have found it useful!)
Just FYI, emails to mms addresses are not included in your unlimited, in-network text messaging plans. If you’re in the habit of constantly texting images back and forth, your recipient is going to have those counted against their non-network messages, both to and from.
